I build FixAEO solo. Background in software engineering — full-stack, Go for backends, React/Next.js for frontends, infra on Oracle Cloud and Cloudflare. I started FixAEO because the existing AEO tools split into two unhappy camps: gated agencies at $800+/mo and surface-level “free” tools that are really lead-gen pages. I wanted something in between — actual working tools, free, with paid tiers only for the higher-volume / recurring stuff.
What we believe
Five opinions baked into how FixAEO is built. We're happy to argue any of them.
Free should mean usable
Every tool on this site runs in your browser. No email gate, no rate-limit drip designed to make you pay. The cost of giving away 19 tools is real for us; we think the trust it builds is worth more.
Tools beat agency for most teams
An AEO agency at $797/mo is the right answer when your team has bandwidth issues. But most of the work — schema, llms.txt, robots.txt, content shape, citation strategy — is learnable. The companies that learn it themselves compound; the ones who outsource it forever stay rent-paying.
Practice what you sell
If we ran an AEO tool that blocked AI crawlers, you'd be right not to trust us. Our robots.txt explicitly allows GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, and the rest. Our llms.txt follows the actual spec. We try to be the example.
Transparency over positioning
Public sample reports. Public pricing. Public competitor comparisons that credit what others do better. We assume buyers are smart and will fact-check — so we lead with verifiable specifics rather than marketing varnish.

Under the hood
Boring choices, optimised for shipping quickly and surviving traffic spikes cheaply.
Frontend
Next.js 16 (App Router, static export), Tailwind CSS v4, deployed to Cloudflare Pages.
Backend
Go 1.26 + chi router, Postgres for persistence, deployed in a Docker container on an Oracle Ampere ARM VM. 5-layer rate-limit protection (per-IP windows, global concurrency cap, body-size guard, idle-IP cleanup, route-specific limits).
AI engines
Gemini, Claude, and OpenAI SDKs wired natively. The Audit Tool queries 6 engines: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, DeepSeek.
Edge
Cloudflare Tunnel exposes the API at api.fixaeo.com with TLS auto-issued. CDN caches static assets globally.
