Quick start

  1. Install AEO Quick Check from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Pin the FixAEO icon to your toolbar (puzzle-piece menu → pin).
  3. Visit any public website — your own domain, a competitor, a prospect, or a client site.
  4. Click the FixAEO icon. The popup shows an instant overall AI visibility score (0–100) for that brand, plus the top 3 buyer-intent prompts where it appears. The full per-engine breakdown across all 8 AI engines lives in the FixAEO dashboard.
  5. Click See full AEO report in the popup to open the full prompt-by-prompt analysis on fixaeo.com.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the popup show 'Not scanned yet' for some brands?

AEO Quick Check serves data from FixAEO's pre-computed scan cache. Smaller and newer brands haven't been scanned yet — clicking the 'Run free AEO scan' button takes you to fixaeo.com where the standard free-scan flow runs the analysis. Once the scan completes (~30 seconds), refresh the popup on that domain and the cached score will appear.

Why is the score in the popup different from the brand page on fixaeo.com?

Both numbers come from the same database but the brand page is pre-rendered at build time, so it can lag the latest scan by a few minutes. The popup always shows the freshest score in the cache. After a daily seed run, the brand page rebuilds automatically and the two numbers line up again.

Which AI engines does the extension actually check?

The free popup shows a single overall AI visibility score and does not break it down by engine. The full view across all 8 engines — OpenAI ChatGPT, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Grok, Microsoft Copilot, and Google AI Overviews — lives in the FixAEO dashboard on fixaeo.com.

Does the extension work on every website?

It works on any public HTTP or HTTPS site. It does NOT work on Chrome's internal pages (chrome://settings, chrome://newtab), file:// URLs, localhost, or raw IP addresses — those don't have a brand domain to look up. The popup shows a polite 'Open this on any website' message on those tabs.

How often are scores updated?

FixAEO's seed job re-scans tracked brands when their last scan is older than 7 days. Heavily-trafficked brands like Stripe or Uber refresh roughly weekly; long-tail brands refresh less often. For an on-demand fresh scan, click 'Run free AEO scan' from the cache-miss view.

What data does the extension collect about me?

None that personally identifies you. The extension reads only the root domain of your active tab — and only at the moment you click the toolbar icon. That domain is sent to api.fixaeo.com to look up the cached score. The last 5 domains you've checked are stored locally in Chrome's storage on your device, never transmitted. I clicked the icon but nothing happens. What's wrong?

First, confirm you're on an HTTP(S) website (not a chrome:// page or new tab). Second, check that the extension is enabled at chrome://extensions. Third, try right-clicking the toolbar icon → Manage Extension → toggle off and on. If it still misbehaves, send the chrome://extensions error log to hello@fixaeo.com and we'll respond same business day.

How do I uninstall the extension?

Right-click the FixAEO icon in your Chrome toolbar → Remove from Chrome → Remove. All local data (last-5 history) is deleted instantly. No account exists to close.

Can I use this for my agency clients?

Yes. The extension is free to use, no per-seat license, no account binding. Many agencies run it across client laptops to audit each client's AI visibility on the spot. For deeper reporting, the full FixAEO platform at fixaeo.com has per-brand exports and white-label options.

Where do I report a bug or request a feature?

Email hello@fixaeo.com with a screenshot or steps to reproduce. We respond same business day on weekdays and triage bug reports within 48 hours.
